Hendrik Vandekerckhove

Hendrik Vandekerckhove is lawyer (intern) at Bannister Lawyers.

Hendrik obtained his Master of Law at KU Leuven in 2014. In 2015, he obtained an LLM in public international law at the University of Utrecht, specializing in international criminal law. During his studies in The Netherlands he also participated in the Philip C. Jessup pleading competition. During the national finals, he was awarded the prize for best speaker.

After completing his studies, Hendrik Vandekerckhove wrote a doctorate at KU Leuven with the title “International Criminal Justice and the Role of National Courts”. During his career as a doctoral student, he has also supervised various teams of students during their participation in various advocacy competitions. Two of those teams eventually won the entire competition.

In October 2019 Hendrik Vandekerckhove joined the Antwerp Bar under the patronage of Mr. Jorgen Van Laer where he is mainly active in criminal law.
